A Brief Comparison of the Latest Tablet PCs

Tablet PC has become popularity recently. And new tablet PCs is continuously coming to us. Then this article will make a brief comparison between three new tablet PCs: BlackBerry PlayBook vs Apple iPad 2 vs Galaxy Tab.
Rumors go that the Apple iPad 2 will be launched in April 2011 or the first quarter. And here we will make the tablet PC comparison according to several important factors.
Firstly, let’s have a brief look at their size. Both BlackBerry PlayBook and Galaxy Tab provide 7-inch display with 1024×600 resolution. However, Jobs suggested that iPad 2 would not be 7-inch tablet while there are rumor saying that iPad 2 will be thinner.
Then, let’s come to their camera. Samsung Galaxy Tab is equipped with 1.3MP front camera and 3MP rear camera, while BlackBerry PlayBook has 3MP front camera and 5MP rear camera for conference calls. And iPad 2 will be equipped with camera too, according to the rumors.
As for the storage, BlackBerry PlayBook supplies 16GB/32GB/64GB storage with the unknown expandable storage support. Samsung Galaxy Tab provides 16GB/32GB internal storage, and expansion storage with microSD. Apple iPad provides 16GB / 32G /64GB as internal storage with no expandable storage.
Media support is another point for comparison. BlackBerry PlayBook and Galaxy Tab support recording 1080p HD videos, so there is no problem for the playback of 1080p videos with these two tablet PCs. According to the fact that the HD videos of iPhone 4 cameras will be up to 720p, we can expect that iPad 2 may record up to 720p videos.
Next, we will make a comparison of their function of multitasking. It is confirmed that Samsung Galaxy Tab with Android 2.2 and BlackBerry PlayBook with BB Tablet OS support multitasking. Apple iPad with iOS3 does not support multitasking and the iOS4 now is available for multitasking. So we can say for sure that iPad 2 will support multitasking.
Finally is the comparison of their multimedia entertainment. With Samsung Galaxy Tab and BlackBerry PlayBook, it is convenient to browse web content and Flash videos. The built-in player of BlackBerry PlayBook supports H.264, MPEG-4 and WMV files, while Samsung Galaxy Tab supports more with DivX AVI. And iPad 2 might be similar to the current version with H.264 and MPEG-4 for .mp4, .m4v and .mov.
